Not sure who decided to put the main clutch engage lever that close your leg and pulled toward instead of away from you ? But a neat machine anyway

I am sure! It was the designer. The operator has a different type of mowing pattern.

Why a hand clutch ,then why would anybody want a hand clutch that had to be pushed. So stupid to push it. Biggest reason I would not have a hand clutch deere on the place to use.

I don't think that is the propulsion clutch. Looks to me like it is the hydro lever. Push it forward to go forward and pull it back to go backward. Same as my combine. CC Case truly had a backward hand clutch. Pa nearly killed himself backing my uncles cc out of a low shed. He was used to JD. hand clutch.

It?s not the propulsion clutch it?s the header drive . And if you? pushed it away it wouldn?t be against your leg all day

SV, if you look close you will see there are two levers there. One with pistol grip is header drive . Other one is hydro lever.
