greenhouse project

I ended up with a little construction job last month installing a greenhouse on the side of a house. The structure was custon built by an Amish guy in Kentucky. I hauled it, built the concrete foundation and floor, and mounted it. They have a produce business but never had their own greenhouse to start plants.

Seems like someone could have planned that door out a little better. Looks like the part you did is pretty nice. What are the panels made of?

My brother has a Lord & Burnham of about the same dimensoions. Brick foundation. Door goes to ground level to a poured walk. Makes for easier in and out.

Panels look like Lexan to me. Kind of like a row of drinking straws glued together, air space makes an insulation. Tough stuff.

I don't think so. Pretty sure I see two black containers inside, one sitting below the house door and one lower than that...steps or optical illusion? I dunno. Such a controversy over a simple opinion.

Yeah the big block step needs to be moved over some. There is also a door at other end, and one going into the house on the inside. The house level was really high with respect to the ground right there, so the greenhouse kind of splits the difference. It was a lot more trouble than I thought it would be. I thought it would be maybe a four half-days type project. Ended up making at least a dozen trips and spending all day several times. I will not be advertising for construction jobs any time soon! This was mainly to help a friend save some money, while I made a little in the off season too.
