Surgery Surgery

Tomorrow March 8, My son and I will have surgeries, Both are planned at 9 Am.
He will Lymph Node repaired and the Old Man will have Shoulder Replacement done.
There will be two Doctors working on me at the time, there reason for the two docs is they can keep me in La La land for a shorter period of time.
Any YT posters had the shoulder surgery?
I still plan on taking two trailer of Deeres to the Grand Island show in June, including the Gol
d D.

Gold-leaf-deere,

Hope sugeries go well for you and your son.

There was a post in the Tales forum rhat you may want to read, about shoulder surgeries... think it was yesterday.

I had a reversal shoulder replacement in January last year. It was June before I got almost full motion back. And the strength is still not there. The therapy is pretty rough at first but DO IT. You may have to set your clutches a little lighter for a while.

Best of luck on your surgery! I remember seeing your gold leaf Deere D in Hickory Corners, MI at the John Deere featured show at the Gilmore museum grounds. A great show! They also had a trailer of all the patio colors JD garden tractors.

I had complete shoulder replacement(both).Second one did last December.Follow re hab to the letter.I am limited to 25 pounds each arm.Pain is gone, range of motion is not as good as original, but ample, hang in there YOU CAN DO IT .GP

Hey old friend some of us southern Indiana Yesterdays tractor guys are talking of a get together in the area of April 5 or 6. Also those are the TWO days of Elnora swap meet. Yes It's two days this year. Also Sullivan Indiana FFA consignment sale is Saturday the 6 of April. Hope all goes well for both of you. Wilson

Two doctors on my shoulder as well with 3 1/2 hours time. The Doctor told Dixie she could see me in an hour and a half. She was sure I crocked on the table became sick waiting. To top it off when I was coming out from under the anesthesia the Nurse ask me if I wanted my wife to come in with me and I told her no. Not unusual for me as I do a lot of talking when I no idea what I am saying without having been under anesthesia. When someone came out the locked door after four hours Dixie walked in before the door shut and a nurse brought her to me.

Hi, I had both shoulders done, 2 years apart. Hurts MAX! 2 months in special sling can't lay down for 6 weeks because arm has to hang down. Rehabilitation hurts but important. Both good now. I can lift arms straight up. Not a lot of strength to do something like a push up though. Ed Will Oliver BC

Good luck to you and your son. I had shoulder surgery 10 years ago and it turned out great if the end. Therapy was painful for me but when Marilyn had shoulder surgery last summer she breezed through therapy without a whimper and healed right up.

I had my left shoulder replaced three years ago. A;; went well, no more pain. I never regained all of my range of motion, but strength did return. I still can't tuck in my shirt tail, but all the young guys wear them out now anyway. Did all my rehab at home by doctors instruction. I wasn't supposed to drive for two months. I did learn not to tell Connie where to park or the best route to the grocery, but I never got used to sitting in the passenger seat holding her purse. Best of luck with both of your surgeries, mine turned out fine.

IT is now 10 PM CST, 23 hours till the Docs get out there tools. Thank for all of the thoughts and offer of prayers. This will my 24th time to go to the operating room for me in the last 82 years.
My son operation is for a lump on his Lymph Node, he is 49 years old and has been in excellent health until recently.
MY most amazing surgery was 57 years ago next 9-ll. At that time I had 3/4 of my stomach removed, If this shoulder goes as good as the 1972 surgery did, I will be satisfied.
I hope to report back next week. T H A N K S for your comments.
