I pickup a 1999 4x4 diesel tractor. It has a 17.4 hp engine and is about the size of a Farmall A. Other than Google does anyone have any ideas on where I might find info? It only has 35 hrs on it and looks to be near new.

Hi, is it a 2 cyl diesel called a Bison? My neighbor had one.
Good little tractor. Ed Will Oliver BC

Bison was a model of Satoh, a Japanese tractor brand. They quit exporting as Satoh in 1983 (merged with Mitsubishi). His is a 1999 Chinese something-or-other.

Dej, are there any markings on it at all (other than Chinese characters)? China exported a lot of different brand names, but many were the same or similar to each other. Hope you're not in it too deep, as there were a lot of "quality control" and design problems in those early years. Many of them broke almost immediately and parts were not available. Saddest case I heard of was one that broke in half with one and a half hours on it. There was even a Chinese tractor board where owners told their horror stories and commiserated with each other.

Run don't walk away from it. I wouldn't want any of those foreign branded tractors. Yes I know all the smaller tractors have been built out of the country since the late 70's. They were built to one of the major tractors spec's though, and there was somebody to go to for parts too.

Lots of the little Bison tractors in south Alabama, used to be a dealer in Dothan AL that sold a bunch of them, one of my neighbors has one that is tough as a stump , it amazes me of the abuse it?s taken and keeps on ticking like a Timex watch...

The tractor runs great. No problems. I need to get a users manual. It is Shandong Weifang w200.

If google can't find it, it doesn't exist online. For something "pre Internet" like your owner's manual to make it online, it generally has to be something that was made in large numbers, relatively popular, and still in wide use today. Your tractor pretty much meets NONE of those criteria, so unless some nutty fanboy built a dedicated website for the tractor, you're probably not going to find it.

I did search Shandong Weifang tractors on google, and came up with the Shandong Weifang Luzhong Corporation, which is probably the same company. They claim to be one of the largest manufacturers of tractors in China, in business since 1998 (or 1996 according to some pages). They still make tractors, but they are now all LZ-something for models, and none of the "regular" tractors they offer are that small. Smallest now is 25HP. http://cn-luzhong.com/tractor%20details/lz254.html

Not a lot on how to contact them directly.
