Newspaper item reports that the average American uses 3 rolls of toilet paper per WEEK! The paper is sourced from Canadians forests and are in danger of being wiped out as a result. C'mon, fellows ease up a bit, or we will all have to resort to using velvet leaf leaves!

Ben

They their putting it single wrapped rolls for people who are trying to quit. What more could you ask for.

Here in Ohio there was at least one if not more paper mill closed up ! The tree guys used to be able to take wood chips there to get rid of them and maybe get enough to pay for the hauling of them. But now they just get piled somewhere to rot.

What are we supposed to use--don't get a Sears or Monkey Ward catalog anymore!---Tee

This is another example of fake news. Think about it; If it were true, the average American would have a raw bleeding arse. Maybe we should go back to using corn cobs instead of making gasoline out of the stuff. We could save the planet; call it the "Yellow New Deal" (or maybe The Brown New Deal?)

President nnalert, please put a tariff on toilet paper! Get "rolling"! "Wipe" that grin off of your face. American jobs are being "flushed down the toilet"! Don't be a "paper" tiger! "Ply" your trade! Don't be "soft and gentle"! American jobs are "Depends"ing on you! The loss of American jobs is a real "stinker"!

Not entirely true, Kimberly - Clark makes their TP from recycled paper. Used to work for them. But hey what else is Canada going to export to the U.S. besides trees.

growing up we had a bucket of red cobs and a bucket of white cobs, you wiped with a red cob, then wiped with a white cob to see if you needed to wipe with another red cob....

Which leads to the question;

How many rolls does the above average American use per week.

I can tell you we're overachievers.

But I've always been wary of buying recycled toilet paper.

However, the more paper that goes to landfill the more trees get planted by the mega tree companies so the more carbon gets sequestered in the landfills so AOC recommends using half a roll with every sitting.

I tried to borrow some paper the other day and I tild him I would BRING IT BACK ?..He wouldn't let me have any

I used to have an aunt who couldn't use the toilet without using AT LEAST 1/4 roll of paper per visit. ....Just to [b:b903eb5bfc][i:b903eb5bfc]PEE[/i:b903eb5bfc][/b:b903eb5bfc]?!?!?!????

Anyway, this sounds like a pretty shi**y subject to be taking about!  [/i]

Our son runs a tissue mill in Wisconsin, their fiber supply is 100% recycle, as are most tissue mills, as they are not large enough to support a pulp mill. And with the declining paper usage, and china is not buying nearly as much waste paper, we have plenty of fiber available, recycle or virgin.

Back in '01 I was executor for an aunt of mine who passed away. A couple times we ended up spending the night in her house when we were going through things. She left an estate worth 3/4 of a million dollars, but used the cheapest TP I have ever come across! It was about 1 grade above sandpaper!!
I decided right then that if that's what it takes to get rich, then I'm going to die a poor man!

You're assuming that one square equals one wipe.

Most people pull several feet off the roll for ONE wipe. A lot of the paper is wasted as "buffer."

When you have to pay $250 each time to have your septic line roto-rooted out because you used too much toilet paper, you start watching how much you use.

That's about how I felt the one and only time I've ate a Taco Bell. That's also how I felt the last time I'll ever eat at Pizza hut again when my sister and niece wanted to eat there.

Not me. I use as much as I need to get the job done and I don't care how much that is. I may use extra just to be on the safe side.

Remember when the hole in the roll of TP was about the dia of a quarter? And now it's about the size of a coke can dia. Sheesh.

using only one square of tolet paper fold in 1/4 tear off the corner that has the fold about 1/4 '" save this corner you have torn off open the folded square and stick your finger through the hole and wipe your azz then hold the paper tight around your finger and pull your finger through the paper to clean it off then use the corner you tore off and saved to clean under your finger nail.

Here's a hint, but you gotta use your imagination. Hint: Dog's don't use toilet paper and they seem to do OK.

Average American family of 4 might use 3 rolls a week. A lot of ours goes to blowing noses and wiping off make up, the girls, not mine!

And some people let a dog lick their face after they use their tongue to wipe with. And some claim s dog's tongue is cleaner than humans.

My employer recently sent me on the road. Stayed at a national chain that is designed for extended stays. They had the thinnest paper I have ever used. I referred to it as 1/2 ply. Could read a newspaper through it, before hand. Don't know about after. Co-worker called it Clark Gable paper. Slick and Smooth and wont take no ...(you know the rest)
