Overhauling a B

I'm overhauling my 1945 John Deere "B". Just finished running a ridge reamer thru the cylinders to remove the ridge. Now I have to hone the cylinders. My concern is getting all the reaming and honing debris out of the engine. My thoughts are to get some diesel fuel and a paint brush and wash down everything and let it drain out the oil drain hole then install a magnetic drain plug. Does anyone have a better suggestion.

Best is hot water and soap applied with a stiff brush, when you think it is clean wipe until dry. Next apply a spoon full of 10w or aw32 oil to a white cloth and wipe cylinder if it comes out with dark grey stain go back with soapy water. Repeat until clean rag with oil cones out same cokor as it went in

What sort of ridge reamer did you find that can remove a ridge from a 2 cyl. block where the ridge is down those at least 1 inch or more ? I sure would like to of had one. Only ones I have seen can only do blocks where the ridge is right up at the top 1/4" or so ?

honing the bore and installing new rings is not an overhaul .
It is simple enough to unbolt the block and send it to a machine shop for a 45 thou over and hot tanking .
A set of model 50 pistons will add some power with the wee bit of extra compression .
What work is being done on the head ?
