settled with tower co, they will be putting in a tower next to the other one and maintain the road [about a mile] across my property..I got 2000. a month for this tower, will have to clear a acre of woods to get tower put in. have already started got the dozer and track hoe at the site. timber guy commin Monday to clear cut the acre and then I will clean it tower starts march 10

Sounds like a pretty good return on your acre of ground. Of course your upfront costs cut into that, and you lose some to the roadway but a pretty good crop non the less. Long term contract?? and what happens when they don't need or want to abandon that tower? gobble

tomturkey, road is all ready there going to another tower, they are going to maintain it, contract is fifty years

Sounds good so far. Do you live close to a populated area? I have an offer from a tower company far less
than yours. I feel like I am being low balled. I do live in a rural area about 60 miles from a larger town if that makes a difference. Did you have to barter to get to your settlement?

gearhead, I live way out in the sticks, no barter took ther first offer and they maintain the existing road.....I have learned you don't ask for to much or they will go some place else, your neighbor will cut your throut for that kind of money a month. now I have two towers

They offered me $100 a month for a 50 year contract. I feel that for this offer I wouldn't be offended if they did go to a neighbor. Their offer is hardly legitimate to me.

100 a month, don't let them on your ground, I am short at two a friend of mine 10-12 miles away gets 7000 per tower, took it from his neighbor they wanted 8000 he said 7000 so they put them on him

Sounds good! Way more than I get. I agreed on a price for a cable dish site but it has been three months since I heard from them. I told them I needed to see the site stakes before I would sign. The first tower people were not all that honest and I told them I wanted to know where the site and drive would be located first. That must have run them off.

Wind turbines are going up about 30 crow miles away. Very many of them, I can see all their lights blinking on my once completely dark horizon in the middle of nowhere. Some family has been fighting them.

I keep getting a direct mailed ad for a solar farm type deal, got two last week, all from the same place. They say they pay up to $1250/acre/year. "20-40 year lease available" innovativesolarfarms.com (not linked on purpose, but that's the address) They say they need those large transmission lines, which those haven't been installed yet but will be soon, "they" took 8 acres of mine as it passes by one corner (I'm not supposed to have any tower leg on my property, just the easement clips me, and the map looks like one leg of one tower might be in the fence line).

I have a few hundred acres the panels could go on, but my guess is it wouldn't happen, and probably a scam of some sort. Things like the power lines going in, almost thinking it's turning citi-fied out here, despite the closest two stoplights being 30 miles away. Used to have virtually nothing visible in the night other than a very faint, distant cell tower blinking about 15 years ago (first "civilization" I could see).

Guess I wouldn't mind something legit paying a fee, getting used to seeing "things" around, would be less work than cows, getting kinda tired of them with the weather and everything going on anyway....
