Hydraulic line issue

Has anyone had a nut on the hydraulic line tear up the threads when removing it? The hose will get replaced, but wondering if cleaning the nut with a 1" - 12 tap would be OK?
580B Case Backhoe
Thanks

Could be caused by rust or corrosion, but more than likely the nut was over torqued and stretched the
threads. If it was mine I would replace the fitting and nut.

I agree with what you are saying about hydraulics. I had the new hose made up and the threads inside the nut are in good shape. I just need to clean the threads and it should be fine. but I do not know nor can I find any info on the size tap I would need. the fitting is a -16. The fitting in question is under the cab and would be a pain to get out to have a new flare nut installed so I am looking for this fix. Any help is much appropriated.

-16 is 1" . You don't say what type fitting you are dealing with, pipe, JIC, or other type. JIC -16 thread is 1 -5/16" , 12 tpi. Pipe -16 is 1-5/16" , 11-1/2 tpi, two common fittings.
