Hi all,
I hope someone out there can help. I have a Case 1470 that I just put a clutch in. Trans was reinstalled and now I have oil coming into the bell housing. It is coming in between the pto shaft and the input shaft. I have removed the rear pto cover and am not understanding why the oil is traveling down the pto shaft and dumping into the bell housing.
I replaced the lip seal in the pto housing and the oil ring on the top shaft. Still, oil into the bell housing.
Anyone out there familiar with these transmissions?

Thanks

Did you replace seal Key #6?

So was it leaking before you took it apart? and I am guessing this is hyd oil from the transmission you are getting into the bell housing and not engine oil,, I am thinking you may have rolled the seal lip or damaged it when installing if it was not leaking before the clutch job

Hello everyone,
Thanks for the suggestions so far. I appreciate the help.
Here is what I believe to be the problem and source of the oil in the bell housing. The main hydraulic pump bolts to the rear cover of the transmission. I believe the hydraulic pump is pressurizing the pto case on the rear of the transmission and pushing the fluid past seal #6. We removed the pump and disassembled it to inspect. It is very worn and needs to be rebuilt.
I am convinced that this is the source of the problem.
If a new pump doesn't fix it, I will re post and let you know.
Thanks
