I lost my tools

I heard we'll set recond snowfall for
February this year.
Every week we've been getting another 4-6"
I can't find my tools.
Maybe they're tools back there.
The back of the pickup is half full -
mostly of snow. But there's other stuff in
there too. Under the remains of successive
snow falls. Some of the things I know are
in there are half a roll of 12-3 romex, my
8 lb sledge, a 3' crowbar, a couple of
ratchet straps and a bag of bolts.
There's other things in there too though.
Can't remember.
Now, I'm not looking for sympathy from you
guys as I know everyone here has lost
tools before through their own fault.
And these I expect to find again.
Hopefully by June or so.

That is like when you find the garden hose or that air hose with the snowblower. One thing I have is at the front wall of my house there is a mop bucket faucet. It has both hot and cold water. Hook a hose up and with the hot water it would make short order of that snow in the truck bed. I could not figure why homes only had cold water for the outdoors. Why fill a kiddy pool with cold water when you can put nice warm water in it. The faucet has connections on it and there are two ball valves in the basement. Shut the valves and disconnect the faucet. Couple of minute job.

I've been trying to take bets that all this will be gone and the ground thawed by the first of August. No takers yet!
However here in North West Ohio they are calling for a few days and a couple nights that the highs will be above freezing so the top of the frozen ground will be a might slippery under the loader tires.

I just noticed this past fall that my pickup bed has developed a drain hole to let the melt water drain out when it warms up. Darn rust from 10 years of Iowa winter salted roads. Looking to put a flatbed on but I have mixed feelings about it. It won't hold near as much junk that normally rides around in the back of my truck.

my uncle lost one tire chain for his 430 jd one year, swore someone had stolen it. Found it whn the snow melted

Yup...but that faucet has been on my house for almost 20 years. Want to wash things or just watering the lawn. Wash your garden tractor just set the valves to blend hot and cold. A little soap and a wash rag. Just so nice.

When it's time to quit is when you look and look and after days and days of no answer, you sit down on you shop stool, put your elbow on your knee, chin in hand and right there in front of you is what you have been trying to find.

My hat's off to you guys. But I'm acclimated to Texas, being a native and not suited for your climate. This afternoon I was outside painting another panel on my newly acquired Ford 3910.

I think the outside hot water is a good idea, Jeff! I also think a urinal in a stall in the mudroom is also a good idea for most homes.

The last time that I loaded the snowblower into the truck, I blew some of the snow out of the bed. When I pulled the machine back, I saw a six inch piece of a long extension cord laying in the bed. I thought that I had removed it, but obviously I had not put it away. It did not get cut, that I am aware of, but I will not know until spring.
