So, we farmers in Minnesota got together and used our money to build ethanol plants so we could raise the price of our crops from the 1980s. Did -exactly- what you are saying, got together and raised our prices a dime, the local basis is what went up. And look at all the hate on here for ethanol, everybody loves the big oil monopoly much better, hate on those independent farmers that dare raise the price of a box of corn flakes a nickel! The NFO deal never woulda worked then it wouldn’t work now. People want farmers to be just like that painting of the old guy with a pitchfork and his blue haired wife, old, brlokeb down, poor, and give the food away from their 40 acres so the town folk can spend their money on 75 inch TVs. The multinationals controlling all aspects of farming is probably closer than many of you realize. They are using govt on their side now, farmers don’t own tractors, we own lumps of metal and plastic the software that runs them is leased, owned by the company. Most livestock has become custom contract farmed, the farmer is just a feed and manure hauler and building owner. The eco-green movement is all about laws that concentrate the power and wealth into a few hands,it’s not about making a better environment. We are well down the path. Paul
