Hunt is over. I spent 24000 on a 1560. Dealer is gonna put on grass seed boxes for that and it has a scale. It’s a lot more than I wanted to spend, but it should last me the rest of my farming career. The row units show wear, but it’ll have to do for this year with just a bushing kit on the seed boots from Needham. I also bought some spare tubes and parts, including 4 90 series boots. Doesn’t take long to get over $1000 when going through row units. Next year, I’ll do the rest of the boots and maybe change to the narrow gauge wheels.

I like a guy who stands up and tells what he paid for something. Especially for nosey guys like me .... ha
!!! I know guys who buy a pair of shoes and keep the price a big secret ..... never could figure that out.
Good luck with your purchase and the maintenance you're gonna be doing.

Nice find on the scale. When I mentioned my expensive drill, I forgot to mention I had added the scale. Seems like that was between $2500 and $3000.

Is the grass seeder the same as a small
seed attachment? I have a small seeder on
mine and put the grass seed in the big
box.

The small seed boxes on the front. Usually called grass seed boxes, but are mostly used for alfalfa seed here. It is still fairly common to use oats as a nurse crop in the big box and and alfalfa in the small box, though direct seeding is getting a lil more popular.. I have been told that some guys just mix the alfalfa and the oats together in the big box since they both end up down the same tube, but it seems that a consistent stand might be hard to achieve.
