Comparing jump starters

I?d like to buy a jump starter, but they give different specs and I?m not sure I'm comparing them correctly. Plus there are 2 types, the larger ones with lead-acid and newer, much smaller type with lithium-ion battery. Is one type better than the others? If it sits in your car in cold weather, how often should you recharge it?

Harbor Freight has one with the lead-acid battery that says 330 CCA, battery capacity 17 Ah, for $50 (minus 20% coupon)
Black & Decker has a 300 ?instant? amp (lead-acid) and 7 Ah capacity, for $50

A Weego 44.1 smaller unit with lithium-polymer battery has 400 Amp of cranking current, battery capacity of 41Wh/12,000 mA, $100

Anker Roav Jump Start Pro, small, startup current 400 A, Capacity 8,000 mAh or 29.6Wh, $100

Putting aside the size (smaller is better), brand, other charging ports, lights, etc, which one is better for starting a dead battery?
Which one would have more power, more capacity?
Is the biggest advantage of the small units just the small size, easier to carry around?

I think 330 CCA is better than 300 amps (both lead acid), right?
Is 330 CCA better than 400 ?startup amps?? Seems hard to compare those different numbers.
For battery capacity, HF?s 17Ah is better than Roav?s 8 aH, better than Weego 12 aH, right?

I?m thinking the larger jump starter with 330 CCA, 17Ah, lead acid battery, for $50 is still the better item.
What do you think?

My kids had a couple HF ones & they weren't very good & didn't last very long. My son and I both have JNC660's now which seem to hold up good and work very well. They maybe won't start a diesel with clear dead batteries but will if they are just low. They are more expensive but they work when you need them.

I won a NOCO GB70 at a tractor pull a few years ago. I was surprised at how well it works for such a little thing. Couple of weeks ago I used it to jump start my 91 Dodge Diesel. Worked like a champ, but it just about emptied it. I use this thing all the time on cars, lawn mowers and tractors. It can recharge from a 12V accessory outlet or from the USB on a computer or wall wart. It has outlets for charging cell phone or other USB powered accessories. It goes in the truck every time I load up for a tractor show or pull.

Freind of mine has a new lithium styled one. I have to say I am a no believer till i seen his work a couple of times. Here in the last cold spell it jumped 3 ford 5.4 v8 pickups in a row without recharge and had power to spare. Though those trucks were not dead just very weak and could not start on their own. Its shows the enery density of these lithium batteries vs lead acid and new vs old technology.

I've got a Noco GB40 but I've not used it yet.
But we got one for our daughter that's in college
and she has used it a number of times and it's worked well.
It's simple enough for her to use, She's not really mechanically
inclined, she's an art student.
Here's a video that sold me on it.

dsr proseries. The bigger one is very heavy though it does 12 and 24 volt jumps. Used by most of the auctioneers down here for tractor row starting. It is switch activated so it will work on a dead battery. Good: will start most anything no matter. If old battery is shorted, just jump straight to starter. Bad: the big one is very heavy.

The others have a safety relay to activate them and the bad battery must have some voltage to activate the safety relay or they will not work.

Or they have a little lithium battery that only works if the old battery is a just a bit weak as there is very little (limited) capacity in the small lithium battery.

Don't some of those have a tire inflator built into them too ? I think that would be a handy feature.
