I did get my seals; now , there are a couple im not sure which way they go and the old ones are gone are missing; anyone know where to find a break-down on one of these cylinders? Thanks.

Pretty much all seals go with the open side and garter spring if there is one, towards the inside. Flat side out.

Not sure of the exact cylinder you have, but as a general rule...

The seal lip always goes toward the pressure side.

If there is a flat back up ring, it goes on the flat side of the seal, or opposite the pressure side of an oring.

The dust seal lip always goes out.

Search "hydraulic cylinder seal orientation", under images you'll find about any cylinder and seal combination ever made.

Okay...the hydraulic store I bought seals from say the seal on the end(outside) goes in backwards.... also the one im concerned with is the seal that has a "lip " on one edge... it goes on the inside of a sleeve that's on the shaft. I should post a pic. Thanks.

Steve...the "outside seal" or dirt seal- which way? I have cylinders that this seal is both ways- does it go like a regular oil seal or backwards? Thanks...
