Who has done an engine 'swap'Like Detroit,Cummins or other? How about like an H into an M,or vise/versa? I have a friend who put an M motor into a 450.How about an M into a 560?4020 in to a 3020?Or the guy who put a 460 gas into a 756. there was a guy when I was a kid who put a 4620 engine into a 4020 powershift.what have you done? or seen? This could get interesting......
 
I have 3 'repowers'. Reversed F12loader with Jeep;'hotrod' F12 with 2.8L V6,and 'Frank',MD with 400 gas motor.I'm sure there will be more before I'm 'done'(deadLOL).
 
I just picked up a 301d from a case 1000 combine for my 400. The 301 is 4 3/8 bore is the same as an 830. The 400 was a 256 and 4" bore. Lots of people have traded various case engines since anything from the 400 to the 4694 will bolt in. Mostly they bolt in 504s for pulling or 70 series to get direct injection for better starts.

We had a neighbor that put a 345 IH v-8 in an m and it was pretty much a bolt in deal and looked like factory. Was really a nice set up with 2 upright mufflers and all the original tin. Sweet set up.
 
I still have a SMTA and 400 rearends/parts tractors out back.Maybe I should looking for a 345. LOL Also have a junk 806,how about putting the 806 engine in the SMTA?
 
Do you have the jack shaft and bell housing flywheel ect from the combine? I would like to put a 267 or 301 diesel on a 660.
 
No I don't have those parts. But a neighbor has an 800 combine that has it on it and is salvage, he will be having an auction this summer I think and I'll keep an eye on it.
 
I have a 4020 John Deere with a 4430 engine and a ih 766 with a 1086 engine. The 766 was easy, the John Deere was a real job. It made better tractors out of both of them.
 
Put an 855 Cummins into a 2470 Case. Makes a great lugging tractor. Very involved- had to have a plate made and tempered to adapt the Cummins to the Case transmission. Lots of other mods as well, but well worth it.
 
Put electric fork lift motor in ford ranger. Some may have seen it in Farm Show in years past. Does this count?
 

I have a dream to mount a Ford 401 onto a Ford 4000 transmission and rear housing, then put 6000 sheet metal and control panel and have a fiberglass nose made for it.
 
My neighbor is in the process of installing a Cummins semi truck motor into his son-in-law's Steiger, replacing a Cummins (different model). They are currently engineering some crossmember mods to fit the larger front oil sump into the tractor.
 
Had a 55 Massey Harris with a 3-71 Detroit. Someone made a nice job of it I don't think it was a purchased kit

I put a 5.9 cummins in a 806 gas. Needed the plate and frame rails from an 806 diesel. It works great ! I would love to know what it takes to put a 4020 D into a 3020 D.
 
Just unbolt the front halves and exchange them from one to another. Otherwise frame rails and extend lines and wiring. Unless if its an early to a late model, then the lines will be problems.
 

Not much on tractor engine swaps other than giving some help to a friend while he swapped a 5.9 Cummins onto a IH 806.
I did put a 5.9 Cummins in my F-450 to replace the blown up 6.0
 
Years ago I saw an Oliver 1550 with 1650 engine. Locally they upgrade ford 1000 and hundred series tractors for pulling.
