Old Dr Phelps would give you cough syrup so terrible that you didn't dare cough or you parents would give you some. Yuck!!! You would sit there turning all colors holding your breath trying not to cough. The good old days.
 
A few weeks ago, My doctor prescribed cough syrup with Codeine.
Used it about 3 times and it did nothing for cough.
Went back to cough drops that worked better.
 
I once heard that cod liver oil is good for a cough.

Take a slug of cod liver oil and you're afraid to cough.
 
I didn't even finish breakfast before the day's problems started demanding my attention. Finally got a few band-aid fixes done so I could finish breakfast and open the PC for a minute. I think I feel a little tickle in my throat right now, so I'm going to take the rest of the day off and go get some GOOD cough syrup. Thanks Jon for helping restart my day!
 
You want to be terrified not to cough??? Have heart surgery. Your first cough and it is like you got kicked by a mule.
 
Anyone remember Parke-Davis throat discs? They contained Chloroform and they WORKED! Last time I bought a package they didn't list chloroform as an ingredient and they were no better than anyone else's.
