Double Sundogs

Sundogs were out bright and clear this morning. Its never a good sign and sure enough, its -15F with a strong wind from NW. Wind chill factor is right in the danger zone I guess. They say we are 10 to 15 degrees below normal. And that is celsius degrees. In real degrees that would sound even worse. No improvement in sight for the rest of the month they say.

We see them several times a year here. Those are exceptionally bright and clear. Great pic!!

I've noticed that when others post sundogs, they can usually get both in the same frame. Ours are always way far apart. Anyone know why that might be?

I don't know, maybe it is the time of day or temperature that makes a difference in the sundog "spacing". I saw one picture where there was a third one directly above the sun.
 
I went to girlfriends today she didn't remember ever seeing a sundog as I was going home I did see one and called her on my hands free phone so she went outside and that was something neat. then I told her well the weather will be getting colder high tomorrow is to be 15 after high today of 42.
 
. My Maternal Grand Father was superstitious and spent most of his time looking for signs of natural disaster. His other interest was looking for another Depression .
Never did him any good a he was broke most of his life .
