Does anyone know where to get spark plug extensions or would I have to go to machine shop and make some ? Im using autolite 386 Plugs, anyone know what would be a hotter plug ? Also spark plug jumpers? Thanks

Stay away from spark jumpers,it's hard on ignition components. The extensions are usually on the "Help" pegboard at auto parts store. They can also order them. Usually called "anti-fouler".

I got some at NAPA , had to order them. The package instructions only recommend 2 for a 4cylinder engine. I ran an oil burner an extra year before replacing the engine, they helped. joe

I thought people used those because they had a oil burner that fouled the plugs all the time .Never heard of someone using them just because
Just wondering.

if yur going to buy plugs, the parts man can tell u exactly which plug is next in line for hotness. why you need extentions? the reason plugs foul is because the engine does not get to operating temperature putzing around. I know with champion the higher the number the hotter the plug. also when looking at the electrode the smaller the electrode the hotter the plug.

Available at NAPA but will likely need to order a set.

Look for the old guy, and ask for anti foul adapters.

Those anti fouler say to not use on all the cylinders. I had a straight 6 that oil fouled plugs. I tried all 6 and could barely get it to run ! Went back not using them and keeping extra plugs around and cleaning them in a plug cleaner.

I remember you could buy them anywhere back in the 70s. I had a '68 Honda CL350 that would not run without them. It didn't smoke or use an abnormal amount of oil either. a few years ago I tried to find some and couldn't, I think I was going to use one on a three wheeler.

I have never use the extensions myself, but people that do tell me they make an engine harder to start. They used to recommend only putting them in half the cylinders, or only in one bank of a V8.
