My Tractor is....

Can Someone help me Identify my new tractor? I just bought what I thought was a 1953 Ford Jubilee. After I got it home and was doing some research I found the model number on the body was a 640... It has the Ford Golden Jubilee Medallion on the front of the hood though... Can somebody that knows more about these tractors help me?

golden jubilee 1953 series numbers should be 4930-77478
NAA 1954 77479-128965
640 was the next series in 1955 took the place of the NAA they had the medallion in the front also but not the golden jubilee medallion

Someone has changed the medallion, it's a 640.
Jubilee and NAA have the same rear axle as a 8N with the large nut attaching the hub, 55 and later model 600 & 800 have one piece axles like yours.
According to John Smith's Old Ford Tractor info 1955 model serial number began at 10615 and ended at 77270, this would make your tractor a late 55 model and a better tractor than a Jub or NAA.

Don't feel bad Tom. I have a Farmall 460 gas. The hood is from a 460 diesel. My guess is someone switched out the hood on your tractor with the first one they found that would fit.

By the way, welcome to YT.

(quoted from post at 17:46:27 02/11/19) Definitely not a Jube, 600 series Ford, better tractor
appreciate all of the help and input. I was stoked to get the ole jubilee, but I am even more excited to find out that it is an even better tractor than what I expected! Thanks for the guidance from you all and I am looking forward to learning a lot from all of you!

What state you buy that tractor ,Reason im asking i saw one that has been sitting on a trailer for sale for a while and now its gone . Just
wondering

I drove down from Middle Tennessee and bought it in Jasper Alabama at a TriGreen Equipment dealer. They had taken it in on a trade. It was in their back lot and not on a trailer, that I know of, until I drove it up onto mine.
