Tire size question

I have an old manure spreader with 8.25-20 tires on it that I need to replace. Is there a current size that size converts to? I am having difficulty finding that exact size especially in a used version.

Thank you!

That size was very common on medium duty trucks and maybe school buses several years ago.
i don't know what the modern version is, but I am sure there is a metric size that will interchange.

That spreader had used truck tires put on it. If gotten from factory with mounted tires it would have been an implement of 7:50x20 and traction tread if ground driven, rib implement if a PTO spreader. There was also a 7:50x20 truck tire. But any tire in orignal sise or what you have now will be hard to find but new are readily avaible but high $$.

I have some 8.25x20 truck tires out here in the barn. But they are so old, as any others you might find also, you might better get 7.50x20 implement tires. Truck tires have been tubeless,[22.5] so long I imagine yours are difficult to find.

8.25x20 tires are still available. We just put two new ones on an old Knight manure spreader last week. You probably won't find any used ones around, we couldn't. They came with new flaps and tubes. Don't remember what they cost.

I have an old Deere spreader (model M??) that has that size on it and I have two spoke wheels off a JD spreader with very good traction type truck tread on them that I would like to sell. 8.25 x 20 was very popular. I have a 65' GMC 4000 that has them on it.

Most went to 900X20's Or 10.00X20's. They used to be far easier to find used. They make a implement tube to go inside the 900/10.00x20 tires.

imple tire has them new. Several choices, but they start at 228 dollars and up. DOUG

You can buy wheels that will fit your spreader and take the 22.5 tires. Oryou can cut the centers out enough to get to the wheel bolts and weld the new wheel to the old center. That would convert you to 22.5 tires also. 900's would not be that much taller to matter.

Problerm is on most of the older equipment trying to put those tires on they will not clear the inplement.
