Has compressor/relay gone bad?

The refrigerator suddenly quit cooling this afternoon. Both freezer/refrigerator compartments are not cooling. All coils are clean, evaporator and condenser fans both running, the compressor is little warm but definitely not hot. Relay on the compressor motor will "click" every few minutes; never noticed that before. Any significance?
Mama's not happy so no time to play with tractors, any help/comments appreciated.

Newer refrigerators start relay is a silicon/ceramic disc that can fail, called a PTC relay. Clicking means compressor is not starting and tripping the over load portion of the relay. New part time. I have a box that I could bypass the relay to make sure the compressor is good but I am not there.

Yes Geo, forgot to include that was the first thing I tried. Thanks for comment on the relay; will follow that up.

There was a relay on my Amana that went bad by the compressor. Found a relay on Ebay for around $10.00. Been working since last winter.

It's been years since I worked on refrigerator. If you remove relay there are 3 terminals. One is common, start and run . If you put power to common and neutral to run and start, a good compressor will start. Then quickly remove neutral from start and compressor should continue to run.

Use amprobe to measure current.

Ok, thanks to Geo and you guys I confirmed bad starter relay! Will pick one up Monday. $10 cost leaves a few dollars available for tractor tools.
