620 John Deere Power Steering

Had to drain the power steering fluid in a 620 John Deere to do some radiator work.
Put fluid back in and now the power steering is jumpy, does not work and then suddenly
will want to turn as you put a little pressure on it. Does this mean there is air in the
system, or what else might be the issue?
Thanks.

With the tractor on ice, turning back and forth full travel will purge the air. (easiest) driving while back and forth full travel will also work. (looks goofy). jim

What fluid did you use? Some of us have had good luck with the genuine Mother DEERE stuff (AF2235R), others swear by whatever they can find.

If the fluid is aerated/foamy simply letting it sit overnite or for an extra day will help settle it, if you're not in a hurry
