pain from pork?

I have heard it said that pork meat can cause joint and muscle pain in human legs, especially if you eat a lot of it and you are older. I have leg pain now and we are on our 2nd day of eating from a pork roast. I am old and I love pork meat so I eat probably more than I really need.

Any truth to "the saying"?

I never heard that before. I am only 70 so maybe an older person will know. I have aches and pains but dont think pork caused them.

Not so much pork, but there is a parasite that lives in under cooked pork then causes arthitis like symptom. Trichinosis. Never heard of it being specific to legs. Usauly affects whole body

My mother has arthritis and when I started getting it she told me that eating lots of red meat in a short time caused her to have flare ups. I have found it to be true for myself also. Red meat is any mammalian meat. I think for me that fat and grease are as big a trigger as alot of meat. Takes a week or more to stop noticing after a fatty or meat heavy meal. Lean meat does not seem to do the same thing, we eat alot of deer jerky with no ill effects...

I eat a lot of pork every week. Beef gets me! I can eat bison without a problem but a small beef ribeye or large hamburger will set me in extra pain for over a day. We use the pork grillers for our burger type sandwiches. We buy a pork loin every other week which makes pork chops, pork roast or pulled pork with BBQ sauce for sandwiches.

I don't doubt it. We are never sensitive enough to our bodies in relation to what we eat. This may sound stupid, but if I eat a lot of bananas my legs hurt badly at night when I stretch out. Acetominophen in Tylenol hurts my bladder. Took me years to figure that out.

With me it's Ibuprofen. I can maybe take one or two per week, but NO more! Otherwise I get severe muscle pain in my back.

Only think modern pork gives me is smelly air.

In the bible pigs are totally unclean. I like pork and hope the way they are fed nowadays makes them better, but don't know. pig have no sweat glands to sweat out poison. So people who seat like a pig don't seat at all.Ha Ha

My older brother has been complaining about his legs and feet hurting. He went to the dr. The other day and they did a blood test. They told him his Uric acid was high. I think I spelled it correctly. Anyway that is a sign of gout! They used to call it the rich mans disease, because it was caused by eating too much red meat!

According to the other half pork and beef will cause inflammation in the body. There are any number of things that can cause inflammation in the body, and not all affect everyone the same. I am finding I am getting sensitive to beer as I get older, guess I am going to have to start liking whiskey.

Pork and beef cause inflammation in my body, right around my belly. I like both and eat more than I should,(of everything). The inflammation causes pain in my legs, feet, and back, because I'm fat,(heavy).

Both my Mom and I have pain issues when we eat processed meat, often pork. The stuff we get straight from the butcher shop is much less so, but grocery store meat seems to make my hands swell, and general soreness (I served under General Soreness in the Army).

I usually get chicken or fish when we eat out just due to the treatments of the beef or pork.

for me its beef that gets my gout going. at times my feet hurt so bad can not even walk on them. pork does not react so bad. try to stick with chicken mostly. red meat is bad. and ya uric acid gets too high and forms crystals in the feet. have to take Allopurinal now to control it. beer is bad too, but how can you not have beer on a hot day. heard that the clear whiskeys are better also but none is the best. used to hate vodka but now kinda stick to that. rye was my drink but had to give that up. plus seafood like shrimp and sardines is bad too. too much purines in them. you need to get a blood check on the situation. all I know is when doctor says im low on iron I go buy another tractor.

I was surprised when my brother got gout. I thought that was something Uncle Jeb got, and was cured by a shot of granny?s majic elixir. My brother didn?t find that funny, but he doesn?t eat red meat anymore.

Sister has gout, has to stay from salt, tomato juice, and fish.

Everyone is different, you need to find out what you need to avoid.

Some can take prescription drugs and I will have reactions to most.

You can rid yourself of a life long pleasure very easily.......Dr. reads your blood report and your Blood Sugar is 136........130 is the onset of Type II Diabetes so says the Dr..

With bad diabetes on daddy's side, when Dr. said that, I had purchased a 30 pack of Bush Light the day before....Feb 16, 2015, and it's still sitting in my shop frige., case unopened. Haven't touched a drop of anything since and don't even use alcoholic mouth wash. BP is well in the limits now and don't take any medications to put it there.

The trick here was that I CHOSE to leave it be, it wasn't because I was OUT of beer.....it was there any time I wanted it. Made it easy to get it out of my life. Look back periodically and I'm doing just fine, even on hot days, especially when mowing grass, I always had a cool can handy, don't know how many cans got knocked over because when working on things I always had one in easy reach.....a sipper.......thought I'd never get over that but it was really easy! This BS about it being a "disease" as you see the idiot on TV commercials saying, is pure baloney.......it's all in your head!

If it’s knee pain try a supplement availabale at Walmart amazon etc, called glucosamine. This stuff is like magic! I used to have a lot of knee pain back when I was in the Army Infantry running 5 miles a day.... 25 miles per week! My knees hurt a lot then but someone told me about glucosamine and it actually works well. Try it!

Very true about the statins , can't
take them , because if I do I get
those super bad cramps in leg muscles
like a horse bite

. As others have previously mentioned, this sounds like gout. There are some med to take as a preventative and others to take in case of an attack.
Beer makes gout worse.
Gout can make a bed sheet on top of the big toes painful .
