One advantage to cold weather.

I hardboiled half a dozen eggs a little while ago. Have a couple for breakfast, wife's lunch, a snack later, whatever.
I prefer to eat them cold.
So I drained the water out of the pan and set them out on the deck to cool.
8 minutes later they are chilled down nicely.
You guys in the south don't know the conveniences you give up to live down there.
-23 here in the Twin Cities this morning.
Glad it's not cold like in some areas.

Hey Dog, I'm proud for you man. Keep up the good work. Wink! I was out in shirtsleeves this week doing my chores and all....no precip. for at least the last week. Gorgeous balmy, sunny days.

Come down to South Louisiana in August and then we?ll talk about it and yes I?ve been up there when the chill factor was -10 and didn?t have a problem with it.ours is a humid cold not a dry cold .if you?ve been here in winter time you know what I mean.i gotta say though it?s cold up there for a long time compared to here.we can be 80 plus in March and won?t see 50?s until late October usually

You are from the mid west when you use your porch for a refrigerator! when the snow melts and you find the missing case of beer!

Well, that might be nice to have the convenience of the chilled eggs, or as properly pronounced down here "aiggs"...

But on a nice warm afternoon, 8 minutes out of the chicken, it will already be cooked and ready to eat!

But if you're in a hurry, 30 seconds on the sidewalk! LOL

Another advantage of cold weather - It keeps the fellas who aren't made of tougher material to the south ;)

-23 here right now, BUT it's supposed to be 40 and RAINING on Sunday. ARGH! Keep cold, or stay warm, enough of these swings!

Lots of advantages to cold weather, we don?t have gators, and nasty snakes, several months with no flies or skeeters. At least 3 months of free concrete in the yards. And we don?t have to do 11 cuts of hay under irrigation. One more big one, our cars and trucks conveniently rot away from road salt, so we aren?t stuck driving 20 year old vehicles.

(quoted from post at 15:29:11 01/30/19) No problem it ain't the Southerns that want to head North its the Yanks that want to head South.Look at population shifts in the last 20 years.
es, from the North or the west (land of fruits & nuts) & complain about the congestion & high taxes and once here, want to make it just like what they ran away from! Go figure!!!

(quoted from post at 17:17:29 01/30/19) From 40 below to 40 above within a week. Could be climate change, IDK.
ounds like a change during that week

(quoted from post at 13:02:07 01/30/19) One more advantage of cold weather, no bugs on the windshield.
-21 here in NW Iowa.

It's been days since I saw a mosquito around here.

I know all about that humid winter down south. I was in Houston once in the winter about 30 degrees colder there than WY at 20 below. I liked to froze to death there while loading a generator. Went to WY was warmer there or felt like it compared to Houston.
