BN Farmall head gasket

Thinking about buying an bn Farmall, Haven't seen the tractor yet. Owner says the head gasket is leaking oil? Is this possible I have seen them leak antifreeze but not oil. If I get this tractor is it a big job to change this gasket I have changed head gaskets on flat head engines before. Thanks Dave F.

It's worth a try to warm it up and re-torque the head nuts.

Afterwards, check valve clearances and adjust as needed.

Not a hard job. Might want to clean it up and check the valves while you have it off. A friend of mine would turn the head upside down and pour a little gasoline around the seated valves to check the condition. If they leaded gasoline, he would work on polishing the valves and seats using grinding compound.

Easy to do but just a word of advise use and Case IH head gasket or Felpro 7732 and use spray copper sealer. Don't know how many 113,123,135,147,153's I have done but I do know the ones I had trouble with leaking were head gaskets other that the ones I listed.
