Real estate deal similar to comical battery

Quite a few years ago me and a friend was looking at various real estate for sale . One piece was for sale in the general area and we wanted to look at it. It was for sale in a local paper (no out of business) There was two phone numbers listed and NIETHER OF THEM WERE IN SERVICE!!! We called several times. Well my friend happened to know the owner of the paper so we went to the office showed him and explained the issue thinking he would have a valid number!! NOT SO, he called the numbers then looked for the information on the ad and did not have any further contact. He pulled the add down and took our numbers for when the people contacted him. Fast forward they never did AND NONE OF US COULD FIGURE THAT MESS OUT. I guess if I were listing property and putting ads in the paper I would at least check or review them.

Makes you wonder what kind of person would send an ad like that into the newspaper.

They did not really want to sell, or already had it sold and used the ad to "prove" they had offered on the open market. Just my crazy thinkin!!! Maybe it was a conspiracy lol gobble

Yea, some type of estate thing where a probate judge said a property had to be sold and offered on the open market comes to mind. Families will turn on each other settling estates.
