I try to unroll them, but I do it by hand, so there's a few I can't unroll. I used to just set them out at the wood line, but I realized I was using the fertilizer from feeding to grow weeds in the woods. Unrolling helps spread out the manure and stems.

I have a hand winch to raise the bale spear. I unroll by hand.
