I had to replace some seals on my 4010 some years back....must be nearly 15 years now. Seals looked a lot like what you're showing, but just can't remember if that's what it was.

Was snow here then, too. Ended up having to put the seal in a baggie, then carry it out in a small cooler of steaming hot water. when ready to use, rip baggie open and quickly install.

...."Must" be those seals. I also remember having to drop the drawbar.
 
I would say either one tough dude or crazy . Sure glad it is him. I guess a guy has to do what he has to but sure looks like it would be cold. SV do you have to drain all the hydraulic oil to make that repair?
 
I?m trying to figure out how to at least get one of those soft sided shop to work in . The crawler is on hold at the moment
