I need head tourk patern and tightnes for my 44 2N Ford. Now before you go saying to buy a manual I DO have 2 or 3 different FO-4 manuals plus the orignal factory manual. It is just as I don't know where they are as I am in middle of moving a 10 room house into a 1 bedroom apartment. If you have moved you know how big of a job that is. And I am 75 years old by myself and not in good health so how many months is it going to take to find them. I have help comming this week if weather does not get to bad to help me. Just need those figures as I don't remember pattern from when we replaced the head gasket over 40 years ago. Did not have a torque wrench at that time and only factory manual and I don't remember it giving a torque setting.

The generic pattern is to start in the middle, work side to side and towards each end, alternately. Do it twice to get to final torque. BTW, my Dad never had a torque wrench and he overhauled his WC and WD tractors.

Here?s a generic table of bolt torques for different size and grade of cap screws If you can see it?

Thanks, just what I needed. Friend is a good mechanic, just not much experience with Fords.

I cannot read it but thanks. The bolts are 7/16" fine thread. I knew they were not a high torque bolt.

I had not missed it, printed it out first thing, but thanks. And back in the old place still picking up stuff to move I found one of the It manuals and the factory manuals. Did not expect to find things before he comes up tomorrow if weather is fit to get out.
