Don't worry about fossil fuel depletion, just wrap your Brain Around This, You could
fit Tokyo, the world's biggest city, in Yellowstone's super-volcanic crater. Three
super-eruptions at Yellowstone appear to have occurred on a 600,000-700,000 year
cycle starting 2.1 million years ago. The most recent took place 640,000 years ago ?
suggesting Yellowstone is overdue for an eruption. It will block out the SUN and
we'll be DONE. By the way there is a bulge forming and some geysers are off their
time table.

Case Guy ...... I will answer for Russ. What does he do to reduce pollution? He makes sensible and common-sense posts on the YT forums in the hope that others will realize that it is not a big conspiracy whose objective is to mislead and confuse people. So that's what he does. And he doesn't live in California and New York .... is that even possible? Now it's your turn .....

Well CH; The wife and I don't have a lot of money to spend. We don't go on lavish vacations and trips. We have 2 vehicles, one an 2010 Impala, and a 2003 Dakota. We do not put over 10,000 miles on both of them each year. Most of our travel is to buy groceries and for health care.
We grow a large garden and that supplies a large percentage of our food for the entire year. The garden is raised beds and doesn't even require a roto-tiller to work the ground.
Our house that we built, is heated with wood, (no gas or oil) and I manage the wood lots so they continue to be productive, and give us a good supply of firewood each year. We have a solar thermo system to heat our domestic water in the summer. I had a residential wind turbine, but the manufacturer went belly up and parts are no longer available. Our fireplace is a sealed unit with a catalytic converter, and my wood boiler is a controlled combustion unit. Both efficient heating appliances
We live here in rural NY. Land and housing prices are not that good here. We can not afford to move to another state, and besides, I can see the house that I was born in and the house that my Dad was born in from my family room window.
It is a nice little town where we live as long as we can keep the citiots from buying up small farms as they fail and go under. Fortunately we have a healthy Amish presents here and they have bought the small farms and have kept them in agriculture.
My carbon foot print is pretty small. I bet your's is much bigger.

Just read that the magnetic North Pole is moving at a record rate headed to Siberia.Melting iron ore in the Earth causing it,probably melting the Polar Ice Cap too.

Here is the first one to watch. If you want more we can provide them. There is a lot of stuff changing out there. Land rise, tilting, tree lines along one lake died from tilting. One major geyser that had been inactive for many years reved up not to long ago. Hundreds of micro quakes.
Yellowstone

Actually, the magnetic fields of the poles is known to change every few hundred thousand years, I forget the numbers, but the earth is then exposed to more than enough radiation to be deadly, until stability is recovered. Of course nuclear war is always at hand. Resistance to antibiotic is on the rise, pandemics lurk. Sea level rise might move millions of people inland, [ we already don't like migrants ]. An asteroid a mile or so wide would be devastating. Religious folks interpret biblical revelations to mean the end is near. Plenty to worry about. Does not mean we should not plan for a future, just in case we have one.

Just stop eating anything drinking anything or driving anything and the problem will be solved and don?t use a cell phone or computer because they use gold that causes gold mining . Sounds simple really you try it first then the rest will follow after we see how it works for you

Crazy Horse, the Anirondack Case Guy blew you counterfeits away with his answer. All psuedo socialists spew nonsense and pine for the day that they can tell everyone else what to do but millions of hard working and conservative living people like the ACG have actually been taking responsibility for themselves and making it happen with low input since time immemorial and they have never needed the nanny state to pave the way for them.

700,000-640,000=60,000. Maybe we are overdue or maybe not. I think I will take my Social Security early just in case.

We like migrant workers, it?s the illegal part we don?t like. Congress could get off their rear and fix that in about a week with a very few sensible laws to allow legal laborers to work in this country from other countries you know, legally. They have chosen not to do their job (congress) for many decades now. Shame on them.

Other than that minor correction, I enjoyed your list of doom, it?s a good reason to sleep in in the morning.

If we make it until then!

Ha ha!

Paul

Well good for you (seriously). I suspect your footprint is smaller than mine, I haven't a clue how that is calculated, but I do try things like driving older cars too ('02 and an '07) and keeping my thermostat turned down in the house (although visitors let me know about that). Your reply makes sense in opposition to LAA who seems to be a name-calling kinda guy. As soon as I see that happening I tend to write off how serious they really are and visualize them back in the school yard verbalizing the same kinds of nonsense.

Well Crazy Horse, of course you think my post was name calling nonsense, I never expect less from progressives, after all, no one is allowed to disagree with your hallowed philosophy regardless of how many times history has proven your socialist ideals to be not only false, but cruel in the extreme to those who have to suffer under such regimes. The truth is its your kind, those who require the government to hold their hand through life, who cause repressive tax burdens to be inflicted on all of the rest of us who are willing and able to look after ourselves. Have you taken a good look at the chaotic situation in Venezuela lately? Shameless and needless human suffering directly caused by those you would emulate and lionize.

And you continue on with even more of it, sometimes I scratch my head. You definitely were the school yard bully back in the day, I'd bet on it.

I don't know what to think about Yellow Stone. One volcanologist claims we are way overdue and another says not for 20,000 to 250,000 years. As far as the readings they are getting? They are guessing because no one has even a couple of hundred years of data to compare it to. What's going on right now may be part of the normal cycle.

Rick

In all, we have only about 5,000 years of recorded history. Every thing else is mere speculation. A lot of the numbers games are because the pseudo scientists need additional time to account for their lottery style idea of development.
Maybe I'm crazy, but when I see their presentations, I see more evidence of GOD than I do their conclusions. I accept the Bible as fact because most of it is eye witness reporting. Some of it seemed crazy a thousand years ago. Seriously, a horse that breathed fire and smoke and sulfur? Yet you and I had the privilege of riding in them.

There's always a judge lurking in the shadows who appoints himself to have the final word on the subject. Today, you get the gown, wear it proudly.

CH, It's been a long time since I've seen someone BLOWN out of the water like you were, AND you brought it all on yourself! Apologize & call it a lesson learned.
