Has anyone owned or used a new idea T6, or
W6 small square baler? I came across a piece
of literature today, thought it was kinda
interesting concept in the day, musthave
been in 50's

I remember seeing one as a kid 10- 11 years old it was a wire tie.
I remember hearing Ford 530 hay baler were built by New Idea

Dad had one way back before I even started school. All I remember of it was that it was a needle breaking son of a gun. He always had one welded up and ready to go on. The welding shop had a jig to put them in to keep welding them for him.

I saw a W6 at Rantoul. strange looking thing. someone stayed up way past their bedtime to design that one.

The first one I ever saw was at a parts yard in Michigan 30 years ago. Had the owners manual in tool box that I should have gotten but didn't. An aquaintance that is a New Idea collector has one that he takes to shows at times. Supposedly made in a twine version but wire all I knew of. He just got my New Idea No. 60 stalk shreader and is to pick up my New Idea. No. 40 mower when he gets a chance. I only ever saw 3 of those mowers and they were built about 40 mile from me. Lots of trailer type but very few semi-mount type.
