Could someone enlighten me on the truck? It looks like the cab sets higher than an F series. Maybe shorter? I've probably seen one, but very rarely, certainly considering the abundance of old F600's/etc. at one time.

A little research shows that series being the predecessor to the Louisville. Interesting that the L series was as popular as the N series wasn't, at least around here.

Had a couple local guys around here had the 842 combine with 6or8 row heads back in the 80's.
I always liked the look of that model ford. Didn't like the looks of the louisville's. For old smaller single axle trucks I liked the old dodges with the tapered hood from the 40's and the winged or butterfly type hood from the early 50's. When dodge went to the front lift hood like a car they lost their look and style to me. Also about the time they cheapened them up.

May have been washed and clean before unloading the hopper. Wind from behind covered the cab with chaff and dust.
Always liked the look of the N series and the short nosed L's, but were a pain to work on diesel engine wise.

I had a Louisville Ford for awhile best riding and driving truck around back in its day,way better than the F series.Plus the Fiberglass hood that flipped forward made it easy to get to the engine compartment.

I Still have COE almost like the one in the picture only mine has a tag axle-391 gas with a five and a 2-have not used it in 25 years-sits in a shed on a cement floor.---Tee

Sorry I just don't remember. It sold as I was checking out. I asked my niece who was with me but she didn't remember either.

Yes, there were a number sold around here in the 70s but I haven't seen one on years....not many Ford dealers carried them, so parts became scarce, esp if they had to come from Germany.

Beautiful photo, two nice machines at work. Didn't know anyone made an open-station combine. Looks fun to operate out in the air and sunshine as long as nothing is blowing on you.

...Seems the Case Combine was a 'big' hit. *lol*

Sorry, posted the pics from the web. Didn't realize it would be that large.

John Deere had combines with or without cabs up
through the new generation combines which were
made up until 1979
