And who are America's biggest land owners?

I was surprised they were family farms, ranches or large timber operations. No mention of China or foreign investors just individuals that passed the land down to family members.

I think that the single largest land owner in America is the Federal Government. I believe that it owns something like 30% of the total land mass of the US. I think that it owns something like 60% of the western states.

Interesting for sure !!! Although some of those net worth figures are staggering, they amount to very little compared to some other wealthy people and families on the planet. The Russian mafia guys carry that amount around in their pockets (a slight exaggeration but you get my point).

None of them spend too much time on YT I've noticed. Maybe that is our weak link to massive fortunes.

Don't know how much is domestic, but Nature Conservancy states they have "[i:f6463c13e6]protected more than 119,000,000 acres (48,000,000 ha) of land and thousands of miles of rivers worldwide[/i:f6463c13e6]", as of Sep 2016.

They don't have time to post about what they ate for dinner, the weather, or their doctor visits. Too busy acquiring more land.

Those nature conservatory type outfits are good at getting cheap or reduced or willed land, and then selling it to the USA for a tidy profit for the officers, and to buy
bigger chunks of land, repeat.

John ...... I don't want to sound repetitive so I will just suggest doing what Bob said. Of course, if you want to get technical and interpret the wording in it's strictest sense one might claim that, but in reality the federal Canadian government owns over 80% of the land up here. It's called "crown land". This little article will explain it for you .....
