1940 case va tractor

I just bought a case tractor for $200. It runs but needs a water pump rebuilt and it is missing to top of the air breather . Any suggestions

Can't mess around with rebuilding when you can get a new one for that price. Meanwhile, at the end of the YT parts site link you posted, there is this statement ..... "The Case VA was manufactured for 3 years: 1953, 1954 and 1955" ..... hmmm, that should probably be changed.

I'd definitely go with a new pump,rebuilding water pumps is a last resort for me if I can't find a replacement.

Wouldn't it be a VC if it is that old? Didn't know they made VA's in 1940.

That?s a pretty good price for a pump for sure . With the prices of these new aftermarket pumps it makes it pretty hard to screw around rebuilding one
