Put new seals kits in my steering cylinders and replaced one bad ps line. Bought the seal kits and flexible steering line from this site. Flexable ps steering line is so much better than the old rigid lines! When I got the 3000 it did not have a drawbar and the hitch was busted up so I put a new hitch and drawbar on today too.

That's a difference of opinion I think those sloppy rubber lines look like a horsed arse wrapped up in bob-wire... Every one I have ever seen leaked/sweated fluid...

Keep up the good work tho...

This line is just rubber. No
metal or wire wrapping. I agree
they don't look as clean as hard
lines but sure are easier to work
with! Not a show tractor just a
old working tractor.

Save the old lines for a pattern just encase you decide to make new ones... Tubing is cheap and with a cheap HF double flaring tool and a little trial and error you can make them as original...

I do understand going the rubber line deal but still don't like'em...

The hard way with green armor brake line that line is a bear to work with.

EZ way with standard brake tube.

BTW I do not put those steering box sheet metal covers back on evey time I looked with them on I had a birds nest behind them. Not to mention its a good place to start a fire...

Have you been informed about the positive battery cable shorting out either on the hood are where it hits the gas tank... Its burnt a many 3000 to the ground...

(quoted from post at 19:47:12 01/05/19) Thanks for the tip on the battery
cable!!! That's an easy fix. I
will get them wrapped.

I do not like two black battery cables . I prefer to have the positive cable red or the end bright red or something like that , in case Jethro or someone uses it to jump start something .

I am not worried about the negative cable rubbing or shorting out and found it easy to slip a section of pink/red heater hose over the positive cable . It helps color code and insulate .

Once a year I do a comprehensive inspection / maintenance and do a basic walk around before the first use of a day .
