Prettiest tractor....

While we are all bashing others tractors and exaggerating ours based on all kinds of bests, how about the prettiest? I know looks don't plow any acres, but ownership does imply some pride in your tractor, and just how it looks. As I said below, the 1950ish Cockshutts had style and complementing colours. A bit newer and I would choose the 30 series Case....great colour combo and just an overpowering precense due to their size and stature, especially the row crops.

Which tractor catches your eye?

Awhile back a MF 1080 came up for sale and I remember it looking like a very capable tractor with nice straight lines. I think some of the Internationals share that look. Someone on here said the Massey really did not have that much "pull" for a machine its size and weight.

There 3 tractors that I all ways thought were sharpe and That was the Ford 6000, Farmall 450 and the Allis Chalmers WD45.

At one time there was 3 333?s with diesels and a 33 diesel within a 5 mile radius of here. There?s still 2 333 diesels remaining both restored.

Those are sharp! Some of the IH demos are sharp too. I always liked the look of the 175/185 allis too.

Can't decide which is best, but these gotta be a favorite.

These are also good looking tractors.

I have always wanted one of these and if there is ever anything not case on my farm it will be one of these.

Off my normal color but number 1 for me would be a 1468 with rops. Number 2 a case 1070 black knight open station 3 an Allis chalmers d21. I like the older stuff but I have a major soft spot for ?muscle? tractors

I'm color blind. They're all pretty to me. Here are some of mine.
With two of my brother's thrown in too. The Case SC and the Suzi.
The DC on the trailer is pretty much all original and will stay that way.
I'd really like to stumble across a MM UDLX and an Oliver S44.

The International 656 Farmall is a beautify balanced tractor. The long hood and flat-top fenders are level and with a wide front the front spindles give it the bull-dog heavy look. Now the utility 656 ranks as one of the uglier tractors.

I think if you are going to talk about pretty tractors you have to consider not only the lines of the machine but the color or combination of colors they came with.
For me the best looking tractor of all time was the Cockshutt 40. Perfect lines and superb combination of red and cream.
Next in line at least stylewise is the the Ollies with the side curtains.
But on those the nice green is ill matched with the gaudy yellow and the blood red rims were awful.
The later Ollies had a much nicer color scheme and they got rid of that awful red.
Honorable mention goes to the following:
The 8Ns. Nice lines and the pleasing mix of red and gray. Ford never again built a good looking tractor.
The Massey 35s were handsome little tractors and the red/silver was nice.
After that MF kept the colors but failed stylewise.
Farmall Ms were nice with the all red color and long, powerful looking hoods on them.
I am not a fan of orange but the D series Allis Chalmers had nice lines to them.
The orange/buff of the late cases was nice.
The worst Ever tractors were the MMs.
Terrible styling, sickly yellow and those awful red wheels again.
Not much else merits one's attention - either good or bad.

I am a Deere person but an IH 1206 or a 190XT Allis look as good as any of them when all dressed up. The 1080-1100-1130-1150 Massey can look real sharp as well. Tom

well I sure like my Minneapolis u and like the harvest yellow also. so I will stick it in here too. cant call it pretty though, that's for girls. original paint on this one.

I've always been partial to Farmalls. The letter series tractors are all beautifully designed, but they're just so common that - I hate to say I get tired of looking at them - maybe too "used to" looking at them.

I think that's why I like the 560's better. In my area they're pretty scarce. Like the letter series, I think they've got a timeless design, but with a paint scheme that really works well.

Here's mine sitting in front of a friend's store (she also took the picture)

My top 3

Case 430 Series (Actually, any 30 series wide front in Desert Sunset over Flambeau Red) I picked the 430 because of the "bulldog" lines.

The David Brown in Hunting Pink and Primrose Yellow.

I was thinking Farmalls are my favorite, but your pictures of JD tractors in the snow give the Farmalls a running for their money.

I have to agree with Grandpa Love about the Ford 901, I may be biased

Like UD said most people like some contrast in colors. The Fords are obviously best looking but I also like the two color Cockshutts, especially the Blackhawk. Another basic eye pleaser is the "lean, graceful" look. Like a deer, (four legged type) or a beautiful woman. In the show ring judges like to see a lot of daylight under most species that they judge. After the animals are judged and they get their pics taken their front feet are up on a block under the carpet, right? This is why row crop models are more pleasing to the eye than stumpy blocky utilities and wheatlands.

I am pretty partial to CASE Two Tone tractors. Colors are distinctive and the styling is great. I also like working tractors, not "trailer queens"

No one has mentioned a Minneapolis Moline UDLX yet. Plow through the day, take her to town at night I believe was part of their advertisement campaign. Wouldn't that be the personification of pretty? All the examples mentioned so far are indeed beautiful tractors, but I don't think any of em would bring over 100,000 at auction like a UDLX would. It's got to be cause they're pretty. Just my biased opinion.

Dpitman, I am confident that if my 901 were one of 40 in existence that it would bring $120,000 at auction even without a cab!! LOL.

D-4 Cat has those rugged looks to die for, with the traction to get anything done without slipping, cheap on fuel and can't beat that pretty yellow paint.
