5000 turbo or 7000

How can a guy tell if he is looking at a 5200 Ford with a turbo, or A true 7200? Tractor has been bought and sold a few times so who knows. Does have 7000 decals, but a MW turbo Kit. Could be a 7000 with a 5000 turboed engine. Anyone know what to look for?? Al

The 7000 had oil lines from the block to the bottom of the radiator for engine oil cooler, the 5000 did not.

a m&w turbo kit also had the external oil filter on it and tapped the oil line out of the back of the cam, rear of engine, where the external auxiliary engine mounted hydraulic pump would have been on later models. The 7000 had the oil lines tapped into the side of the block.

The numbers on the tranny would be 52xxxx for a 5000, and the 7000 would be 72xxx

IIRC 7000 also had the oil cooler lines to the radiator???????(sorry bit foggy as its be a long time since I had a 7000)

The 7200 has a sims pump with a weird tap on the rear to reverse the direction for the tach cable to work as it came with an alternator instead of a generator like the 5000 had. dang, its making me think back a bit.

The 5200 with the rayjay m&w kit ran very well on the tractor I had, but the hinson cab would make a man go deaf. But the tractor did not have the higher chrome top rings from the factor that a turbo charged engine normally has, did not have the piston squirters, to cool the pistons, and did not have the modified transmission gears the 7000 came with, as well as the factory oil cooler. I still have some m&w filters for the bypass oil feed... in the shop.
