Welcome to YT
I suggest to check battery voltage. Check to be sure all 4 battery cable connections are clean & tight. It's possible neutral start or pto safety switch is faulty

Which is it? "Won't engage" or "won't turn"? I would think "won't engage" means the starter spins but doesn't engage with the ring gear, while "won't turn" means nothing happens when you hit the switch.

Check the voltage at the starter terminal while a helper hits the switch. If you get a solid twelve volts at the starter but nothing happens, the starter is bad. If the voltage is much lower than 12 volts, then you have a bad connection upstream of the starter.

Thank you.Yes, engage was the wrong word thought that might cause some confusion. Starter will not spin. We had issues with ignition switch making contact and replaced it. I will check voltage to starter and possibly jump it direct to see if motor is good. 30 amp fuse has good voltage. I am however a little confused about the new switch. first click lights up dash second click glow plug light comes on but you have to keep holding key . They apparently updated this switch.

Did you check the controls to make sure all of them were in the right position to activate the safety switches? I am not familiar with that machine, but
that has been the cause of several no start problems that I have seen.

7308 is the model number for the loader. I'm guessing it's on a compact. Make sure the pto's are disengaged and shifter levers are in neutral . Try pushing in on the key after the glow plug position and turn it all the way to the right. Good Luck.

Be very careful that the tractor is in neutral when doing any testing that will put you in front of a tire. Lots of folks have been run over by their own tractors doing just that.

One thing that will bust your trolley. Had a battery open up one time.
Did just what you are describing. Lites would come on but not quite
full brightness. Took jumper cables from another tractor to this one
and Bingo! Blow the horn and it would sound like a sick cow. Several
months ago my 300U the starter wound just GROWWLLL. The bendix broke.
Took it to the shop and had the guy rebuild it. He does VERY nice
work.

Thanks to you for all for your replies. PTO lever was not completely disengaged. Harold wins a cigar and I get the booby prize.
