Looking to replace my original 20 inch tires on Ford F-350. The michilens have been great but I was hoping to go with a little more aggressive tread design but do not want road singing.I will get ~40k out of this set.
Thoughts?

I have never been much into evaluating tires, but I used to own four light trucks that were very often loaded fairly heavy. I ran Firestone Steeltex for a number of years and usually got around 65,000 out of them. I believe that it was replaced by the Transforce line. There is no way to get around more noise with a more aggressive tread. To get maximum mileage you need a strong sidewall. I shop by the load range on the side of the tire.

My K2500HD, that carries tools, fuel, compressors, so well loaded, and it had Firestone tires on it, at 18k they were completely worn out. I put Michelins, as I will not use Firestones, Good Year, and most of the total off brands.(they have no quality any longer) I did go original equipment ( like what they put on new vehicles) hopefully I can get 40k like you did.

I run coopers discovers E rated and a 60,000 mile tire. These are the old ones and the new ones have a little more aggressive tread than the older ones.

These are what I run they have a lot of traction got 50,000 on mine they?re bald still had fair tread at 40,000 I?m running them on diesel with 350 rear wheel horsepower and the truck weighs 9500 lbs I tow regularly and before I went to these I?ve only been able to get about 25,000 on a set of tires

Sorry for the intrusion. Just testing on iPhone because of a report someone couldn?t reply to this post.

There is the Michelin LTX AT2, but are not very aggressive, I would call these an all season more than an AT

Two brands/models I have verified to last a long time with decent AT tread and not noisey.

BFG AT KO2
Toyo Open Country AT2

I Can?t hear mine I was surprised how quite they were I like things quite when you hook a trailer and pull all day a couple times a week all that? racket gets old

I used to run Tranforce a/t on my 06 Dodge. Could never get much more than 20000 out of them. Guess maybe I had to much weight and power!! Went to a 12 dualy and am up to 60000 per set on Goodyear Wrangler a/t

I?ve never gotten more than 20 on the back of a single wheel diesel pickup except toyo at but they have about as much traction as a 3 rib steer tire would

I think it has a lot to do with what type of pavement finish. The new ones have only a little over a 1,000 miles on them.

The more aggressive the tire tread the shorter the tread life. Aggressive tires are made of a softer compound which wears faster.
