8x16 front wheels from YT parts questions

This site sales front wheels 8x16. They are on both the Ford 3000 and 5000 parts list. My question is how do I know the offset will be correct to keep the tires off the spindles? Anyone buy and use these? I would like wider steer tires on both my 3000 and 5000.

You have to measure the offset you need and then buy wheels with the offset you need.
If you don't know offset, put a straight edge on the mounting face of your wheel hub and measure to the spindle and then look at wheel specs to find a wheel with the inside clearance you need, since you are modifying the front tires/wheels. Do your homework, and then buy.
Don't forget to add extra clearance for the bulge of the tire sidewall.
Lots of people just revers the dish of the wheel to gain clearance, but that may lead to bent and broken spindles, and hard steering, especially on loader tractors.

If you but rims, make sure they are tractor rims, not wagon rims. Centers in wagon rims will not stand up to loader service.

Call YT parts support line and have them get you the offset dimensions. The you can measure the offset in your current rims and tell if the YT rims will work. Just take a straight edge and hold it across the rims you have. Then measure back to the mounting flange at the bolt circle. The extra width will all need to be towards the outside to clear the spindles. The wider rims and tires will put a little more stress on your spindles/hubs than the current narrow rims do.

I don't understand the wagon wheels versus tractor wheels. If you look at Shoups site you will find they are all wagon or tractor front wheels just have different load ratings. The offset is a bit different maybe.

What size tire do you plan to run, next thing up from a 7.50-16 is a 10.00-16 which is a fairly big tire, I have them on my 6610 and don't like them because they're too tall.
Look at going to 15" rims, for your 3000 7.5L-15 tires are nearly the same height as 6.50-16 but are 1 1/2" wider or 9.5L-15 is nearly 3" wider at 9.5 "
I have 7.5L-15 on my 4000SU which has same front axle as a 3000, 7.5L misses the spindle by 1/2" or less, don't know if you can get a wheel with enough offset to get a 9.5L to clear the spindle
For the 5000 a 9.5L-15 is a little shorter than 7.50-16 but is 1 1/2" wider at 9.5" wide or the 11L-15 is same height as 7.50-16 but is 11" wide.
I plan to swap the 10.00-16's on my 6610 for a set of 11L-15's which are the same width but nearly 3" shorter.

I have 7.50 on my 3000 now. You
are correct about clearing the
spindles by a 1/2 or less. Guess
I will just stay with the 7.50 I
would however like to get wider
tires on the 5000 with the
loader. It also has 7.50 on it
now.

caterpillar guy: Front tractor rims usually have a heavier center in them when compared to normal wagon tires.

I will. I am fortunate to have a
very very good agriculture tire
store near me. The 5000 and 3000
are both due for new steer tires.

I used rims off a New Holland round baler to put 12.5 X 15 tires on my Oliver 1365 they had the right offset and are very heavy duty rims, stronger than what originally came on the
1365.
