Good pics and only being 64 years old when I just 5 before my grandma died made me a cotton sack out of a cloth corn sack and one of my grandpas overall straps and I picked one row along with my grandpa will always remember that time and miss them and my parents at this time of year . Merry early Christmas to you all from Texas.

I wonder if this little barefoot girl was from a sharecrop family? Cute little kid and probably had a very tough life. Most likely not even a highschool education.

The caption did not come through but said she was 8 years old and was taken in 1915.---Tee

I have one I?d like to post but I?d have to get a new user name if I did 😂😂 plus it Christmas well I should say Holliday time so I better be on good behavior

Raising cotton has always been a mystery to me, being from Kentucky. I've passed through the southern states and seen it growing and some operations going on, but never understood what was happening or why. Love seeing these pictures, though!

Later than that John. I remember small farmers hand picking cotton in the late 60's. From kids as small as this little girl to aging grannies. It was a hard life.
