Should have been good

If only I had not been so naughty this past year I could ask Santa to bring me a excavator like this.

I know in America we would want a track version because we do more grubbing of raw land where as Europe does a lot more urban work so the wheeled version works better for them.
But that rotating bucket head with integrated hydraulics ie: no hose connecting; sure is nice.
I wonder why we do not see more of that in America.

And that 20 something old operator would just give this old man a heart attack so I will leave her out of this other than to say she is a dam good operator. She has many videos on youtube.
Notice near the end of video while it looks like she is going forward she is really backing up.
Turns steering wheel right to go left.
Excavator

I've seen in other videos a similar such device for mounting different attachments, but not so well mastered. That was truly impressive. Thanks for the post!

Wow,
I can handle two joysticks in the middle right in front of me.
But separate them apart one on each side of me I am very clumsy.

Though she is incredibly productive, the fact that she could steer down tiny lanes and highway travel with backward steering wheel motion just iced the cake. Jim

Yes guys she is a good operator.

But I posted the video because I have never seen a backhoe with a 360&#176 swivel bucket like that one has.

Guess I should have found a video with a male operator since I was more interested in talking about the machine.

Not to take anything away from the skill set but that swivel is called a tiltrotator. I believe they are Swedish built. They are a major add on. You take the joysticks out of your hoe and put there?s in also the take over the electronic side of your controls and tie into the hydraulic pump/system. The system takes over to smooth things out considerably as for the gravel spreading they also have grade control. They are very expensive and I think the reason you rarely see them in the states is we tend to show up to a job with an excavator dozer and a skid steer or loader. Over there I think they do many things with one machine

We have a wheeled excavator at work, it does ok for what it is. Not as good as tracks, but doing road work on paved or gravel roads, tracks just don't work well on pavement, and we didn't want to put street pads on it, or have to haul it everywhere each time we need it. It will move along down the road at about 25 mph or so, so it doesn't take too long to move from place to place. The pictures are of us digging rocks out of one of my gravel roads I take care of. This township won't put down any new gravel, so what I have is what I'm stuck with. These rocks were only sticking up an inch or so into the road, but it was enough that while scraping the road or plowing snow on it, it would break the bolts holding the scraper blades to my underbody and jar the heck out of you. All better now.

John, it took me all of three seconds to go through the "girl" responses???????

Thanks newhollandnut;

I was able to find other videos about the Engcon Tiltrotator and even their grade system that essentially allows you to blue top or cut a ditch grade with only the machine operator.

With labor cost going up and up I can see this system coming to the states. The machine may be expensive but cutting a crew to 1 or 2 people has got to make up for it in the long run.
