Nortrac Equipment

No personal experience. They are made by Jinma for Northern Tool. To my understanding they have a Chinese engine in the Northern Tool model that has lead to speculation as to where they are actually made.

Reports from others indicate little to no parts support and a totally worthless warranty.

I've seen one guy post claiming to having one and loving it. Guy I know because a Jinma dealer 20 years ago. He was only a dealer for about 2 years and dropped em. Sold a number but warranty work was swamping his repair business.

Years ago the Nortracs were Jinmas. Model Numbers like 204,254 & 304. I don't know who makes them now.
Jinmas were sold under many different names. In my opinion, the owner should have some mechanical ability and an understanding of tractor design.
The owner needs to be someone who can sense a pending problem through sound or feel before total failure. They are not trouble free, but are easy to fix.
Parts are easy to get and resonantly economical compared to the big boys.
I have a FarmPro 2420 and a 2425 (2004 vintage). Not uncommon to have to fix things, but they do the job I want. Especially for rotor tilling. With the 12 speed transmission, I can go as slow as 0.2 MPH at full throttle while tilling.
Seems like many of the non-brand name tractors now are TYM tractors.

My good friend has had one for about 8 years now. He plows snow with it, tills the garden, uses the bucket to haul firewood from the pile to the house, etc. Pulls the sweetcorn planter. Stuff like that.

A pretty good acerage tractor according to him. He's had no serious problems and a lot of parts are common auto store parts like belts and hoses. He's never had a mechanical issue that involved replacing parts only Jinma would have.

Pretty obvious the models sold by Northern Tool around here are intended to be homeowner acerage tractors and not commercial or ag machines. Using them as a 100 or so hour a year tractor and if kept shedded and well maintained, I don't see much wrong with them.

If cost was no object, obviously there are probably better supported brands out there. Especially if you are going to use for ag or commercial use.
