A late model 8N followed me home. Probably paid too much for it ($1400) but everything except the tach and ammeter work real well (also missing headlights) and it wasn?t too far away. This one is still 6 volts but the battery, starter, coil and wiring are new and it starts right up, even in the cold, and runs real smooth with no smoke or leaks anywhere. Not sure of the year but has the distributor on the right side of the block rather than in front. I noticed that the block had cracked, from freezing at one time, in the usual lower left side but seems to have been brazed well and has no leaks. Hood has some rust holes but came with an almost new set of fenders. Tires looked good with only minor cracking but could use both tie rods out at the spindles. Front tires and wheels aren?t stock but I think the thicker ones won?t leave grooves in the lawn as much (its main purpose will be to pull an 8? roller). Best of all it has a Sherman Combo (12 forward and 3 R) transmission. First thing will be to remove the Dearborn Snap loader and cut it up for scrap (unless someone local wants to take it away). Will update when I remove the loader.
