got my patch in..the last pic is where the clamp has rusted the wheel and made it weak, so i'll move the blocks and redrill the valve stem hole to give the clamps new metal to ride on.

I patched one all the way to the bead last year while the tire guy waited. I cut a piece out of another rim and welded it in. When I got done,he wrapped duct tape around it before he put the tire and tube back on. I ground it down good,but he wanted the extra protection of the "gray patch" so it didn't chafe the tube.
 
Did one like that about 4 years ago on a 3020. It was a lot worse and I brazed it in with a cutting torch. I wrapped the whole 18-4-34 rim in duct tape and no problems in 4 years.
