Need a hand when using ladder?

How about 2 hands? They prevent ladder
from scraping paint off siding.

The Amish guys who built my last building has some nice fiberglass ladders with rubber tips made on the ends. From up on top of the ladder he would hold top rung with one hand and push off building with the other and move the top from one side to another at a decent angle and them proceed to nail where he could now reach. Gave them a lot of reach without climbing down every time to reposition ! but sure looked scary.

At my age, I'm just an accident waiting to happen. This ladder is very stable on concrete. The top doesn't slide either. Position it between groves in siding. The scary part is working on dusk to dawn light.

Once again you're right. I also learned recently that a short piece of insulation, the kind that is formed into a tube, that is used on water lines works good when the ladder needs to extend past the point of contact. I just snap it onto the bottom of the ladder where it leans against the "gutter" and it doesn't scratch the paint. Slide it up and down to get it the correct height. It also aids in slipping sideways if you didn't take the time to get it quite "upright."

Ha.

i use heavy gloves all the time for just that purpose.

works good. sometimes they fall off when moving the ladder alot but just put it back on.
