I have a 400 diesel ordered head gasket set and was told all they could find was a 400 super what is the difference
is there a difference between the head gaskets on a 400 diesel or a 400 super diesel or are they the same engine and if not how do I tell what I have

A set from this site seems to answer the question (I do not know Case engine designations. (Part No: FS6735) in YT
parts Jim

if the partsman is good he will answer that question by looking in parts book, comparing the numbers.

A regular 400 is 4" bore and the super
is 4 1/8 like everything up to the 730.
I'm not sure if the fire ring is
different or not. external_link in NY
can get the right ones tho. They got me
mine.

A regular 400 uses a 251 engine gas or diesel. A super 400 uses a 251 gas and a 267 diesel. The head gaskets are not the same . The bolt pattern spread is different between the two.
