Finally happened across this, from the Mecum auction site:

That is the wildest thing. Was on here a while ago. Yes that right
wheel is powered with a chain and gears with a shaft. Not that many
made. Your pictures a much better.

Oh that is great. Now we have a buddy seat. I guess if you own such an
unusual tractor then you can show it off. And I think it is bad that
a couple of garden carts got restored by me. Just got these new sides
finished today. The exterior plywood was $52.00 and the oil finish was
the same price per gallon. Also around ten dollars of stainless
hardware. But it is so cute!!

Never seen such a thing - Trying to figure out it's purpose?

It appears to be a narrow, belly mounted rotary cutter?

Inquiring minds want to know.

There was one at the Red Power
Roundup in Montgomery AL this
summer. There were very few made.
They were used to cut grass around
Christmas trees. Both rear wheels
drive and it zips around the trees
like a zero turn.

Coming from Lunenburg County Nova Scotia "Christmas Tree Capital" I bet some of the growers would love to have a machine like that. I imagine it would be good for other things also like grapes when they are small. Nice machine.
