Was trying to figure out my new to me corn planter and came across this in the fertilizer settings. Can you figure out why with the one setting the sides are different? Took a bit, but I figured it out.

Yes I know why that are like that and let me tell you do not put the augurs in backwards. How do I know took them out cleaned them , put them in backwards . Ever thing screws to the middle and locks up..

Because you have two of each size sprocket. When it comes to the 1:1 ratio you would need four of the eight tooth sprockets if you followed the pattern of ascending and descending tooth count. Since you only have two of each they have you use two 7's and two 9's.

You are correct, someone was trying to explain it iver the phone and without seeing it I couldn't picture it. Once I saw it it didn't take long to figure out.

The chart looks a lot like a seed population chart for a planter. If a farmer (me) confuses a countershaft sprocket with a drill shaft sprocket the corn or bean population can be drastically altered from what is desired. It sometimes takes a clear head to keep it straight.

For 4 rows why would you need 2 separate drives? I mean if it is only feeding 4 rows one drive in the middle would drive all the augers. If not then a very poor strength drive. Our 8 row has one drive for all 8 rows on the fertilizer and one drive for the seed.
Or else I am still missing something.
