Fuel transfer tank

Someone has a 110 gal transfer tank for sale, for 160.00 It has a 12 v fill rite pump that doesn't work. Anyone know if these pumps are fairly good pumps? I suspect it may be a wiring problem, I don't see a lot of abuse on a motor that is not used much. Any thoughts? Stan
 
I have 2 of them and they have lasted years. The 120 volt ones can be rebuilt cheap but never tried on a 12 volt.
 
the magnets like to come loose in the barrel from rust make them pull them out clean up glue back in place just fixed mine a month ago
 
I have two 12V, a 15 gpm and a 20 gpm. I bought both used and have had no problems with them. That tank is cheap enough I wouldn't worry about the pump.
 
I just sold mine to my son, since I have little use of it anymore. Pump is very dependable. Here"s a tip: if you have a full size pickup, where you"d mount it crossways behind the cab...put it on blocks...I used 5x6 blocks on each end. That way you can slide lumber, etc., under the tank to get full use of the box, since the center section is left open.

Had a customer that had his tank installed raised just like you mentioned for the exact same reason except he used heavy wall square tubing.

He brought it to the shop one day and asked me if I could remove the risers for him.

Turned out with his extended cab Ford the tank was just high enough to obstruct his view of the tailgate when backing up and as a result he made quite the mess out of a car that was parked behind him.
